Marijana Tomić, PhD
Assistant Professor Marijana Tomić, PhD, has been working at the Faculty of Information Sciences, University of Zadar, Croatia, since 2007. She leads an interdisciplinary scientific center for digitization, bibliographic description and research of texts written in Glagolitic, Croatian, Cyrillic and Latin scripts until the end of the 19th century in the Zadar and Šibenik area.
Prof. Tomić teaches courses in theory and practice of information organization, cataloging of old and rare books, book history and digital humanities. She is a member of the Standing Committee of the IFLA Rare Books and Special Collections Section and Chair of the Book and Library History Section of the Croatian Library Association (2016-2018).
The VESTIGIA Research Center has been working closely with Prof. Tomić and her research center since 2012.
Ephrem Aboud Ishac, PhD
Dr. Ephrem Aboud Ishac completed his regular studies at the Université Saint Esprit in Kaslik, Lebanon (2013). His postdoctoral studies took him to the VESTIGIA research center in Graz, Austria (2014-22). He spent the academic year 2022/23 at Yale as a visiting scholar.
Dr. Ishac is a renowned expert in broad areas of Syrology with a special focus on liturgical studies and manuscripts. He also works as a "Digital Orientalist".
Karl Lenger, MA
Karl Lenger is head of the Digitization Studio in the Special Collections of the Graz University Library. He has built up a diverse infrastructure, beginning in 1997, and has acquired a level of expertise in the field that is well worth seeing. Most recently, a multispectral camera and an A0 scanner were acquired.
The VESTIGIA research center has been working with Karl Lenger and his team since its inception.
Theresa Zammit Lupi, PhD
Dr. Theresa Zammit Lupi from Malta is an internationally recognized book conservator who has been working in the Special Collections of Graz University Library since 2021. The VESTIGIA Research Center has been collaborating with Dr. Zammit Lupi on several projects for more than ten years.
Dr. Zammit Lupi brings to the Research Center her highly valued expertise in all aspects of book conservation and restoration.
