Khosrovik's Dogmatic Works - New Edition and Translation
Dogmatic Works by Khosrovik Targmanich (VIII century AD) is one of the most important writings concerning Christology of the Armenian Church. These are five letters addressed to different clergymen to explain the formula and essence of the joint Manazkert Council (726 AD) of Armenian and Syriac bishops just after the Council. The book of Khosrovik’s writings compiled of 4 manuscripts was published in 1899 by vardapet Garegin Hovsepian, afterwards – Catholicos of Great House of Cilicia. The proposed book will add the readings from another, earlier manuscript, which is kept in Venice, at the congregation of Mekhitarists. We hope that both adding these readings and translating of the text into English for the first time will greatly assist the correct perception of Christology of the Armenian Church by western scholars and clergymen. One of the most important merits of the book is the attempt of clarification of the terminology used by the author and translation of them into English terms with the simultaneous indication of their Greek equivalents.
